Pre-condition

The robot has enough battery charge.

Person with Dementia is inside their place of living.

Current time of day is within set limits. 

Has not rained in the past 24 hours.

Robot is ready to initiate the walking activity.

Post-condition

PwD and Robot are both outside walking.

Caretaker is notified of activity.

Action sequence
  1. The Robot approaches the Person with Dementia and uses audio cues suggest going for a walk (e.g., playing a pre-recorded message like "Would you like to go for a walk?").
  2. The Robot observes the Person with Dementia's response and provides encouraging behaviors if they show interest (e.g., excited movements, tail wagging, or positive audio feedback).
  3. The Robot guides the Person with Dementia toward their walking preparation area by moving in that direction and looking back to encourage them to follow.
  4. The Robot waits patiently while the Person with Dementia prepares for the walk (putting on shoes, jacket, etc.), providing gentle encouragement through sounds or movements.
  5. The Robot moves toward the exit door and waits, signaling readiness to go outside through positioning and body language.
  6. If the Person with Dementia successfully reaches the door ready for the walk, the Robot shows excitement and anticipation for the upcoming activity through positive audio cues and animated movements.
