UC01.0: Walking Initiation

The Robot has enough battery charge.

Wireless connection is strong enough.

Person with Dementia is inside their place of living.

Current time of day is within set limits. 

Has not rained in the past 24 hours.

Robot is ready to initiate the walking activity.

PwD and Robot are both outside walking.

Caretaker is notified of activity

1.  The Robot approaches the PwD and uses audio cues that suggest going for a walk (e.g. playing a pre-recorded message like "Would you like to go for a walk?"). Or, the PwD expresses interest in going outside and the Robot recognises this audio cue.
2. The Robot moves toward the PwD's walking preparation area.
3. The Robot waits while the PwD prepares for the walk, and provides encouragement through pre-recorded messages.
4. Upon audio confirmation from PwD that they are ready, the Robot moves toward the exit door and waits.
5. This whole time the Robot's mechanical features express excitement and anticipation for the upcoming activity.
