a. Prototype
Scope and purpose
Our prototype is focused on assessing whether our claims CL001: Regular physical activity improves PwD physical well-being and CL002: Dance session improves PwD mental well-being hold. As such, its functionality is focused primarily on UC02.1: Dancing Session Start, incorporating RQ01.2: Human-Robot conversation and RQ01.4: Hold dance session. While UC02.2: Dancing Session Clean-Up and UC03.1: Companion Mode are incorporated, they are only done so on a superficial level, as by this point, the experiment will have already ended. Further details on our experiment procedure is explained further in Evaluation: Test.
Our prototype procedure is displayed in the following Figure:

An overview of the prototype, showcasing different functionalities.
We have:
Robot dog Miro (built-in speaker, connect it to an LLM, send all data to the Miro python library that is connected to our robot)
We need:
A set of songs that we can use for testing. Ideally reminiscent of old songs or straight up old songs. Different genres + bpms
We test:
Calorie burn rate (fitbit)
- Claim: The PwD’s physical state improves or remains the same
Success rate (Successful interactions with the robot: Robot proposes session -> User accepts -> Dance starts)
- (Unofficial claim): The application is usable
User satisfaction (liker scale, send questionnaire)
- Claim: The PwD’s mood improves
The plan:
All will be coded using the Miro python library, connected to an LLM API (chatgpt).
We will connect this functionality to the Miro robot itself.
