4 **Jannike: **It’s Jannike’s 5th year on the job and she is coming into her role as a policewoman. She is 32 years old.

6 Importantly for Jannike is that she is comfortable in her job but is very ambitious and aims to be the chief of the Rotterdam police force in the future. Currently, she is in charge of implementing disaster responses. She oversees technology development inside of the Rotterdam police. Outside of her work, Jannike loves to spend time in the outdoors, climbing mountains, swimming in lakes. She loves being a daredevil.

8 **Helen: **For Helen, she has just turned 60 and has been working for the Rotterdam municipality for around 26 years now. Helen has had to adjust to the new technology that has been coming into the municipality but has always been a bit tech averse. In this manner, Helen works on disaster responses but is less trustworthy of the new technology being used. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with her children and in particular her grandchildren and enjoys playing with them and introducing them to new things in life.

10 **Rolf: **Rolf is a homeowner and spends the majority of his time taking care of his family as he works from home; and is 45 years old. Rolf is a marketer and works for a large multinational. This affords him the freedom to work from home for the majority of time.

12 Rolf enjoys his job but also wishes he would have more freedom to spend with his family which a higher position or working as a more part-time employee or freelancer would allow.

14 **Ben: **Ben is an ELSA (Ethical, Legal, Societal Aspects) researcher within the broader AI field. Ben is a researcher affiliated with the Erasmus University of Rotterdam and is currently completing his post-doc after completing a PhD in Governance of AI systems.

16 Ben is an avid user of AI systems, such as ChatGPT but became concerned about broad misuse of these systems by bad actors. This directs his research in how humanity should govern these systems.

18 While Ben enjoys his job, he finds that it takes a lot of time away from his social life and he struggles to build a social life as he has recently moved to Rotterdam.

20 **Suza: **Suza, short for Suzanne is an AI-engineer for a large search engine company. She spends most of her time working on natural language applications for which language models can be used.

22 She loves her job but is also concerned that the public misunderstands what the systems that she creates do and can do. She wants to know more about the public when creating systems that they will use so she can incorporate their values into the system.

24 Outside of work, she is an avid swimmer and puzzle-solver. She regularly travels to countries worldwide to compete in open-water swimming competitions.
