//Measurements//
)))|(% style="width:333px" %)For each positive and negative effect listed in step 3, describe how you could evaluate (measure) whether they actually occur.|(% style="width:333px" %)(((
**Positive effects:**

- Speed: The speed of the patient in question can be monitored a couple of days and the speed of the robot can then be adjusted to the speed range of the patient. Elders walk on average 4.46 km/h. If the robot's speeds is around that number, the robot will always be able to follow and monitor the elder during their walks.

- Engagement: Through self-report measures, behavioral observation, and objective assessments specialists can compare the cognitive and emotional well-being of a dementia patient before the use of the robot and after.

- Stress: Through self-report measures, behavioral observation, and objective assessments the stress levels of patients, nurses an family members can be compared to before and after the use of the robot.

- Trust: Through self-report measures, behavioral observation, and objective assessments it can be observed if the patient trusts her new robot companion.

**Negative effects:**

- Adaptation: Observe how often the patient struggles with the use of the robot and if there is any improvement over time.

- Overreliance: Time is an objective, quantitative measure so if the time the family members and nurses spent with the patient can be compared to the time after the robot becomes a part of the patients life.

- Inability to provide emotional support: Through self-report measures, behavioral observation, and objective assessments the negative effects can be assessed.

- Privacy and security: What happens with the data that get's acquired? Is it safely stored or is it easily accessible to unauthorized people?

- Cost: If only a small amount of patients are able to afford the robot the it can be concluded that robot has a high cost. If a lot of patients are able to get it it can be concluded that it has a low cost.

//Benchmark//
)))|(% style="width:333px" %)For each measurement, what are the benchmarks (criteria)? (i.e., what are desired values?)|(% style="width:333px" %)(((
-Speed: The robot is able to keep up with the patient. The robot can increase it's speed if the patient starts walking faster or even running. The robot should also be able to lower its pace or stand still when the patient does so.

- Engagement: The patient gets in a noticeable better mood compared to before the use of the robot. The patient should be able to say that they're happier and more engaged than before. The nurses that monitor the patients every day should have the same conclusion.

- Stress: The patient and nurses should be able to notice a difference in stress level of the patient. The robot should not increase the stress levels.

- Trust and adaptation: If a patient keeps making more use of its new companion it can be concluded that the patient trusts and has adapted to the robot. If the patient doesn't want to make use of the robot, an inability to trust and to adapt to the robot can be an issue.

- Overreliance: Family members and nurses should not lower the amount of time they spend with the robot. E.g. now that the robot is a part of the patients life, the nurse that used to go on walks with a patient should still be doing that and now that the robot is here.

- Inability to provide emotional support: This should be concluded through self-report measures, the  behavioral observations and the objective assessments. **This goes for most of the measurements mentioned here**

- Privacy and security: The data should be safely stored and only accessed by authorized family members and staff.

- Cost: The price of the robot should be as cheap as possible so it can be accessible to preferably all patients that would like to make use of this robot.
