Upside | The robot can not only help PwDs reduce stress about forgetting their relatives, but also improve relatives’ willingness to take care of the patients, after all being forgotten is a sad thing. AI will remove the negative bias of relatives who believe that sharing some information with PwDs is unnecessary and make conversations with patients more important. And when relatives do not come to visit, the robot can recall PwDs' past happy experiences with them, giving patients a sense of social connection. In addition, PwDs can communicate with others without barriers, enabling them to be treated more like normal people. |
Downside | The majority of PwDs are older people who may not be used to using digital devices and therefore should be interacted with in a way that makes them feel comfortable. |
