Upside | Overall, the robot is designed to support PwD's memory loss issues by helping them to organize the things they need to remember about relatives and daily activities. We envisage the effect to be useful in three aspects:
|
Downside | Relevant stakeholders need to renew information stored in the system frequently to keep it updated which may need additional effort and time. Also, there is some chance that the information can be accessed and used by others which may undermine privacy. Another issue that needs to be addressed is that the majority of PwDs are older people who may not be used to using digital devices and therefore should be interacted with in a way that makes them feel comfortable. |
Use Cases | |
Tests | Feedback from relevant stakeholders. PwDs and relatives can report their feelings by clicking on the buttons displayed on the robot's screen, indicating whether they are "satisfied" or "dissatisfied" with the robot. Some evaluations also need to be done by the system. For example, the system cam act as a supervisior to monitor conversations between PwDs and their relatives. If in 80% of cases they can name relatives and their relationships correctly, we consider their memory accuracy has been improved. Besides, the game results also give a indicator whether their memory is accurate. |
