Measurements

For each positive and negative effect listed in step 3, describe how you could evaluate (measure) whether they actually occur.

Positive effects:

Measuring sense of autonomy:
Have the PwD rate themselves on a scale 1-5.

Have the relatives rate the PwD on a scale 1-5.

Evaluate how often PwD asks for clarification in a conversation with relatives in #Questions asked.

Measuring the prevention of negative emotions such as stress:
Have the PwD rate themselves on a scale 1-5.

How often a PwD has a stressed/upset moment according to NAO.

Measuring trust in the PwD:
How many times a relative calls PwD to check in.

Negative effects:

Causing negative emotions with upsetting information:
Have the PwD rate themselves on a scale 1-5.

How often a PwD has a stressed/upset moment according to NAO.

Overloading the PwD with information:
Percentage of information re-asked by the PwD.

Benchmark

For each measurement, what are the benchmarks (criteria)? (i.e., what are desired values?)

For the sense of autonomy we would like the PwD and their relatives to rank themselves high and to have the PwD ask few questions to the relative.
For the prevention of negative emotions we would like the PwD to rank themselves high and have few stressed moments/episodes.
For the trust of relatives in the PwD we would like for the relative to make few 'check-in calls'.

For the negative emotions caused by upsetting information we would like the PwD to rate themselves low and have few upset episodes.
For the information overload we would like the retention to be high so we would like a low percentage of information re-asked.

Demonstration of AI-functionality

Can you describe how you could demonstrate that your AI function (s) achieve(s) the effects that you listed in the previous question? In order to demonstrate that NAO achieves the desired effects we could use the previously mentioned criteria/measurements to show that the perceived autonomy of a PwD with respect to their social environment increases using the NAO support system.
