Truus is the mother of a single child, who is very busy with his career. This is not new to her, he has been this way ever since he moved to college. She has always loved taking care of others so after the death of her husband, Truus was always accompanied by her dogs. Ever since she has lived in Martha Flora, she has felt quite lonely, despite the attentive care she receives. She misses her dogs, as they have always brought so much energy with them, lifting her mood every day and accompanying her in her daily activities. Edgard (52), Partner at a large consultancy firm Edgard is the son of Truus and a very successful businessman. Due to his obligations with his work, he can not be there for his mother as often as he wants during the decline of her mental health. He knows that she is not very outgoing towards strangers and is hesitant to receive help. He is very worried that she might feel lonely without her pets, as he knows that the dogs they had helped Truus a lot after his father passed away. Edgard has acquired a lot of money because of his work and therefore he is very open to spend money on projects and technologies that might help his mother during her time at the nursing home. Bob (40), Caretaker Bob is the head-caretaker at the Martha Flora nursing home in Den Haag. He is very busy with his work, trying to make his patients feel as comfortable as possible. Despite the special care and comfortable environment, he notices that patients sometimes feel lonely or stressed. Bob is constantly looking for ways to solve this problem and is open to any suggestions. The Martha Flora nursing home he works at, can facilitate projects that can help improve the mood of the dementia patients. Bob works five days a week at the nursing home and lives close by in case of an emergency. Bob sees the dementia patients as extra parents or grandparents and treats them with the upmost respect. |
