  • Profiles of archetypical persons in the domain
  • Synthesized from knowledge of real people in the domain
  • Personas need to have goals
  • Like scenarios, personas are abstract types, e.g. students, lecturers, etc.
  • For design it is best to develop a few concrete personas who have (hard) characteristics such as age, interests, a name, etc.
  • Try to bring the character alive - perhaps include a picture or two

Truus is the mother of a single child, who is very busy with his career. This is not new to her, he has been this way ever since he moved to college. With the young death of her husband, Truus has always had the company of dogs. Ever since she has lived in Martha Flora, she has felt quite lonely, despite the attentive care she receives. She misses her dogs, as they have always brought so much energy with them, lifting her mood every day.
