1. Environments

In this use case we will focus on a private residential center for elderly with dementia situated in The Hague called Martha Flora. This is a big villa in a calm and green environment where a lot of personal care is given to every resident. Because it is rather expensive and there are not a lot of residents, the nursing home is open to experimenting with newly developed care methods. The price of the robot is also not a problem for the nursing home, as it's a private nursing home where the families of the patients contribute a lot of money yearly. 

Some information about the Martha Flora nursing home:

- 20 residents

- 3 large living rooms

- 150 m² spacious private garden 

- 20 nurses

Objectives:

• To provide dementia patients with attentive care
  • having few residents results in a more focused care distribution
  • with a high ratio of caretakers to residents, there will be less of a feeling of neglect
  • patients will feel more comfortable, with the home-like interior and architecture of the residence.
