)))|(((
What is the overall objective of the human-AI system?

How do human and AI collaborate and support each other (interdependence)?
)))|(((
We have chosen to continue with our character Maria, who wanted to go to the park by herself.

The overall objective would be Maria being able to move outside and go to the park on her own, without a caretaker or family member being present. This would give her a sense of autonomy and provide the possibility for her to be independent.

In terms of collaboration, the AI could, in this case, give instructions to the patient, while the patient can make requests and talk about where they want to go. The AI tries to assure her safety also, for example in terms of traffic rules etc.

What are the functions of the AI system (s)?

What does it actually do?

What are its inputs, and what are its outputs?
)))|(((
Functions of the AI system: route tracking, monitoring surroundings, giving guidance, alerting caretakers in case of an emergency and perhaps showing her location in that case. The AI could also keep track of her diabetes values, perhaps the sensor Maria has is connected to the AI in order to monitor values.

Inputs: location of the park and Maria's requests of where to go, this input could be taken through microphone. Through camera/sensors information about the environment.

Outputs: through speakers instructions of where to go and warnings bout environment, Maria's route/location to caretakers. Encouragement during the walk, soothing if she is stressed etc. Tries to only provide support and help when it is needed, for example when she is going off route, but otherwise maybe not. To avoid annoying her. Perhaps a social aspect, like casual conversations during the walk, which could also be a way to check on Maria if she is doing okay.

//Interaction//
)))|How do you expect the human to interact with these AI functions? Does the human provide any input? (just a (high-level) description of interaction(s) is fine, e.g. “Actor A provides feedback in the form of tags”)|(((
Maria will mostly speak to the robot, for example first specify what park she wants to go to. The AI knows the route to the park and provides guidance if Maria goes off route at any time. Otherwise the AI keeps the conversation casual and encouraging, not constantly though. Whenever Maria has a question she can ask the AI and the AI will reply back with advice. If the sugar levels go low/high the AI could prompt Maria to take her insulin, for example.
