**Design problem: **The specific role of Pepper in interactive storytelling is to accompany the Person with Dementia to activities performed in the evening (post-sunset). The patient is moody and does not know the reason for Pepper's presence during the activity. In this use case, the activity is supper.

**Design solution:** In this design pattern, pepper has story templates that are filled with background information, settings, and characters from the PwD's life by the Nurse (formal caregiver). The robot introduces the storytelling activity to the PwD. Then, the robot combines the story template and the information provided by the formal caregiver to create personalized stories of the patient. Pepper interacts with PwD through choices and prompts. The tone of the robot remains friendly and uses open gestures to make the interaction less formal.

**Use when: ** During the evening - Sundown Syndrome. The patient is moody and needs a distraction. Activities that involve social groups.

**Design rationale: **The design rationale for the use case is to create an interactive storytelling platform that incorporates Mood Management Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to promote the well-being of people with dementia. Interactive storytelling enables Reminiscence therapy, which helps trigger memories and improve mood. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is used to promote relaxation, cognitive stimulation, problem-solving, and social interaction. Simulated Presence Therapy is used in conjunction with interactive storytelling to create a more immersive and engaging experience for patients, and socialization can be increased through group activities and simple games. The platform allows caregivers and healthcare professionals to identify the most appropriate format and content for each patient based on their individual needs and preferences. The story can also include characters based on the patient's loved ones, and SPT can be used to incorporate their voices or images into the story.

**Example: **In our use case, Pepper narrates the story using speech and hand gestures, the goal of the activity is to provide conversational prompts and questions to the PwD. The speech rate is changed to incorporate multiple characters and remove monotony. Music is supplemented in the background to set the ambiance and calm the patient's nerves.
