Interaction Design Patterns

The person with dementia and the robot need effective interactions in order to complete the activity. To achieve this, the caregivers provide the robot with information about stories from the patient's past that are positive and memorable. The robot uses existing story templates to build new personalized stories based on the information provided by the formal caregiver. Hence, the robot will pay attention to the PwD, and their mood and builds interactive stories to help them. These interactive stories enable effective communication between the patient and the robot while distracting the patient and improving their mood.
