UC01.2: Interactive Story session

OB01: Entertain the PwD and encourage them to engage in daily activities;

OB02: Preserve narrative identity of the PwD;

OB03: Stimulate interaction between the PwD and formal/informal caregivers;

OB04: Promote memory retention for the PwD

The Person with Dementia (and maybe their informal caregiver) is seated at the dinner table;

The nurse has instructed the humanoid robot to begin the storytelling session;

Humanoid Robot is ready to start narration in front of the Person with Dementia and their informal caregiver(s).

The story session is over;

OR

The Person with Dementia finishes their meal.

1. Humanoid Robot begins to narrate the chosen story.
2. Humanoid Robot at pre-determined intervals prompts the Person with Dementia to choose an activity to do/a character to interact with.
3. The Person with Dementia/Nurse selects a choice as per the wish of the Person with Dementia.
   1. If character interaction is chosen, Humanoid Robot provides Informal Caregiver with a prompt to start a short conversation with the Person with Dementia.
   2. If an activity is chosen, the Humanoid Robot provides a prompt and the Nurse/Informal Caregiver assists the Person with Dementia to do that short and easy task
4. Humanoid Robot provides stimulating visuals and audio to enhance story immersion for the Person with Dementia
5. The story session comes to an end.
