OB02: Preserve the narrative identity of the PwD

People's autobiographical memories are meaningfully connected within their brains and serve to create a narrative structure within them about their own selves. For dementia patients, a deterioration in cognitive abilities also negatively impacts their autobiographical memories, and hence their narrative identity. Research has shown that this negative effect on their narrative identity can have negative consequences on a dementia patient's well-being. This objective is hence aimed at preserving the narrative identity, or sense of self, of the PwD so they feel connected to themselves and their life experiences.
