3 We divided groups and had a first brainstorm session with the use of personas. Though hypothesizing about people with dementia was a challenge without knowing that much about people with dementia, we came up with our main character Bart, whose hobby for painting inspired us for our first concept.

5 I worked together with Deepali on the Effects part. Diving into the perspective of each stakeholder to see how a robot could impact their lives really helped to think about all the dimensions we have to take into account when designing our robot.

10 This week we had a lecture on people with dementia. It made me realise how tricky it is to do proper research on dementia interventions but also how relevant this field of science is and will become. I also started reading the book "VerpleegThuis" on how people with dementia experience living in a caring home. This made me realize the importance of providing autonomy and self-expression for people living in such a place.

15 This week I worked with Deepali on Human Factors. I did a literature review on human-robot interaction in caring homes and how Self Determination Theory applies to our design requirements. I am each time amazed on how much Self Determination Theory can explain different phenomena concerning human activities.

20 This week I worked with Varun on our Objectives and Design Scenario. This went very smoothly and gave me a better idea on how our application could work in practice. We also learned about design patterns in the lecture. Interesting how those can also be applied to other fields than software engineering!

25 This week we learned about ontologies and I designed one for our project. I love working with draw.io :). Furthermore, I also worked with Varun on specifying the needed functions of our robot.

30 As we needed to start preparing for testing our robot, I have worked this week on creating a conversation decision tree for our robot. This tree was used to efficiently do Wizard-of-Oz during our evaluation setup. My responsibility was to develop a flow for the "Pick a style" and "Pick a topic" session. I really liked working on this as I am a fan of art myself. You can find my final part of the conversation tree [[here>>https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zF3tYp_AcDJZap-szTkM9rFLWETEGcz7/view?usp=sharing]].

32 I also made a plan with Varun for the evaluation part and we wrote it down in the XWiki. It was a good challenge to figure out which parts of our prototype we could test giving the limiting circumstances for our test setup.

35 **Week 7**

37 Testing time! I found literature and developed a questionnaire together with Alexandru which the participants could fill in before and after the painting activities. Later in the week I also started analysing the data together with Varun. Sadly, there were not many significant results but this was also what we had predicted.

42 Together with Sham and Alexandru we presented our research this week for the rest of the cohort. Our classmates gave us some good suggestions for further personalizing our robot. I also got a better insight into how we could have tested the added value of our robot more specifically through the questions of our supervisors.
43
44 Currently I'm finishing up this self-reflection and writing the text for the prototype evaluation part.

47 **Week 9**

49 This week we have added the final touches. As last todo, I wrote down our analysis of the results in the evaluation part and revised the discussion part.
