Short description

The ontology serves several purposes:

  • model and organize the various concepts and relations related to memory support interventions
  • represent different types of interventions and factors that affect the effectiveness of these interventions
  • facilitate the sharing and integration of knowledge for memory support

Ontology development

The design goal of the ontology was to support the system in achieving several goals:

  1. The system needs to be able to assist people with dementia in their daily activities.
  2. The system has to be able to care about PwD's mental state and well-being.

Ontology structure

Memory - A fundamental cognitive process in learning and retaining new information

Robot - An actor can take many forms, as long as it can provide support

Intervention - Factors that may influence memory

Outcome - The ideal state that the agent aims to achieve
