1 -**Patients' home - living room**
1 +**Physical environment**
2 2
3 -The primary goal of the robot is to minimise the effects of memory loss and we want patients to be able to enjoy their daily lives like everyone else. Therefore the robot will be deployed in patients' homes. Patients' main activity areas are the living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. We consider the living room to be our focus since patients mostly spend all of the day there and rest in the bedroom. The latter two are not considered because they involve water and fire, which may cause harm to the robot.
3 +The robot will be deployed in people's private rooms in care homes. There won't be too many facilities since they will do daytime activities in the common area with a group of people. People's own rooms have a bed, a bedside table, a TV and two armchairs. All facilities are movable so that the robot can easily find its way and leave space for the elder to keep safe. All furniture corners are wrapped so that even if patients accidentally knock on it, no severe injuries will happen. When relatives come, they can sit on the armchairs; at other times, patients can put the armchairs aside and do some non-strenuous exercise. There are places for notes, showing the basic information that the patient needs to remember. Besides, medicine and required items are placed within reachable distance.

5 -The living rooms contain the necessary furniture such as dining tables, sofas and TV but also leave space for the elder to keep safe. There are many places for notes and objects within reachable distance in order to remind patients.

7 -**Nursing homes or residential care centres - private room**
7 +The care home is located in the countryside but not far from the city centre, allowing relatives to visit the patients with a certain frequency to ensure that the robot can be of good use.

9 -In nursing homes and residential care centres, each patient has their own private room. There won't be too much facilities since they will do daytime activities in the common area with a group of people together.
10 -
11 -Supposed to be a small robot, it is about 15cm high and is usualy placed on a table, allowing patients to enter and retrieve information easily. As a result, the bed is customized to have a folding table. Then the table can be put on during the daytime and retracted at night to give the patient enough space to rest.
12 -
13 -**Outdoor cases (travelling)**
14 -
15 -There is also possibility that there are patients with less serious conditions who are still able to enjoy outdoor social lives. Lightweight and portable, the robot is able to stay with patients wherever they go.
9 +Around 50 people over the age of 60 live there, 80% of whom have memory loss problems. To ensure that each patient is well cared for, five professional nursing staff also live in the care home to ensure daily care is provided. In addition, a nutritionist and two chefs develop healthy eating plans for the patients and prepare delicious meals. Occasionally, on certain days, especially at weekends, about 10 volunteers also come to the care home to help out.
