Week 1:
I was not able to attend the lectures and lab for this week. Therefore I mailed the professor if I could still join the course and could be added to a project group.
Week 2:
I went through the lecture slides of week 1, on Monday before the lecture and then attended the week 2 lecture where the impact of music, music intervention, and cognition were covered. I then met my project group for the first time on Tuesday during the lab and discussed a team member's project idea. Aligning with the lecture we decided to add a music component to our project. This was followed by redefining use case and problem statement. We then discussed the applicability of different robots for our use case and then decided to use Pepper.
Week 3:
I attended the lecture covering Design Patterns and Ontology. I and Sayak Mukherjee then created Ontology by referring to a research paper. We all then worked on Personas for our project by making 3 personas in a team of two. Simran Karnani and I worked together on making an elaborate persona for Gretchen.
Week 4:
On attending the lecture I learned about different evaluation methods and techniques. We then worked on Functions, Claims in the project lab and decided on who would be presenting in Week 5. We then decided on our prototype design and a rough evaluation plan. Also, we all decided to get familiar with Chorographe and Interactive Robotics platform.
Week 5:
I could not attend the lecture and the lab this week as I had a fever. My teammates presented our intermediate progress. We then revisited our use case, claims, research questions, and prototype as per the feedback.
Week 6:
I attended the lecture which covered the concepts of Inclusivity and Design which we further discussed in the lab in reference to our prototype. We also started working with Pepper and then refined our prototype requirements by considering the limitations. We all also had an online meeting to formulate our dialogue flow and brainstormed different ideas and then started working on the decided flow in terms of code.
Week 7:
We finished the code for both the prototypes this week and then started to formulate the evaluation questionnaire. For which we referred to SASSI and SAM (Self Assessment Manikin) questionnaires. We made our evaluation plan and then started with the evaluation procedure. I participated in most of the sessions and found it interesting to look at different reactions from the participants. After the evaluation process which happened on Wednesday and Thursday, Sayak Mukherjee, Simran Karnani and I worked on evaluating the results. We worked on performing p-value statistical tests and evaluated CronBatch Alpha scores. We also converted the responses received from Manikin assessment to numeric scale so that mean and variance could be calculated. We then plotted the graphs corresponding to every research question and made the presentation. Simultaneously also made some changes on the xWiki where ever we found necessary.
Week 8:
I met with Simran on Monday to make some tweaks to the presentation and further refine it. We then practiced by having a few mock runs and then presented on Tuesday. I later worked on Wiki to make it coherent to our presentation and further updated the Test and Prototype pages. Further skimmed through the XWiki to make sure all different threads were closely tied.
