Pierre Bongrand 13.1 1 I am a master student that follows the artificial intelligence track. I took this course for **three reasons**:
2 **Firstly**, as I believe in a future in which both artificial intelligence - both as software and in robotics - and human will have to work together, it seemed like the perfect course to take understand the cooperation of both.
3 **Secondly**, I already took a lot of theoretical courses and it was important for me to do a course that has an important social impact.
4 **Lastly**, as my grandmother just got diagnosed a brain tumour this summer and as I saw her cognitive abilities degrease week by week, it was very special for me to work on a project that targeted people with dementia.

Pierre Bongrand 23.1 6 ==== Week 1====
Pierre Bongrand 6.1 7 Since the goal of this project is to develop a prototype that meets a real life need. The field of knowledge is very wide ranging from the types of dementia, and the needs of these people, to the type of activities they want to engage in, to the technologies available to help them.
Pierre Bongrand 13.1 8 We decided to divide each of these tasks among the six group members. The idea being that each person will do in-depth research in one of the areas and can present it to the group for the weekend. This way the whole group will be proficient on the topic as a whole.

Pierre Bongrand 25.2 10 **Research**
Pierre Bongrand 25.5 11
Pierre Bongrand 6.1 12 I chose to work on two aspects:
Pierre Bongrand 25.2 13 __Location of PwD:__
Pierre Bongrand 18.1 14 I have listed the advantages, disadvantages and specificities of two settings: health care center, and the patient's home.
Pierre Bongrand 6.1 15
Pierre Bongrand 25.2 16 __Interaction Goals:__
Pierre Bongrand 14.1 17 I researched the needs of people with dementia. I identified three types of goals the chosen robot could fulfil: functional, emotional, and safety.
18 I listed 5 to 10 potential use cases per goal that I found to be either the most important or very original and not already fulfil.
Pierre Bongrand 6.1 19
Pierre Bongrand 18.1 20 Finally, I presented this work to the team and we all made choices about: the type of dementia the patient would have, the potential goals and use cases we will focus on, the type of robot to chose.
21
Pierre Bongrand 25.2 22 **Report**
Pierre Bongrand 25.5 23
Pierre Bongrand 21.1 24 Based on my work, we wrote with Sneha and Haoran a first version of: the environment, the stakeholders, the problem scenario, the objectives. We also defined a first use case.

Pierre Bongrand 16.1 27 ==== Week 2====
Pierre Bongrand 25.5 28
Pierre Bongrand 21.1 29 We splitted the team in two subteams. Sneha and I would work on the report while the rest of the group would work on the code.
30 The point of this was that we could both get an idea on how to code our technical solution and define our problem scenario and personas.
Pierre Bongrand 25.5 31 Sneha and I decided based on a series of argument and by the willingness of the group to implement a solution based on communication that the project will be oriented for patient with early stage and mild dementia.
Pierre Bongrand 2.1 32
Pierre Bongrand 25.5 33 Sneha and I defined based on this worked on the report.

Pierre Bongrand 17.1 44 ==== Week 3====
Pierre Bongrand 25.5 45
Pierre Bongrand 25.2 46 Even though we wanted to switch roles week by week so that everyone would be proficient both with the code and the report we didn't as we accumulated a bit of work from the previous week in both subteams. As a result, I worked with Sneha this week on the report and explored the general potential goals of the robot.

Pierre Bongrand 25.5 78
Pierre Bongrand 25.2 79 This week as Pietro was contact case one day before the presentation, I had to replace him for the presentation.
80 - Make every slides that I presented (as nothing was ready before).
81 - Write the text of my presentation (as nothing was ready before).
82 - Give feedback about slides of other speakers
Pierre Bongrand 17.1 83 -
Pierre Bongrand 25.2 84 I had to write every slides that I would present as well as the text as nothing was prepared in advance.
85 We rehearsed with Mathieu and Manolo before the presentation.
86 We presented in front of the class.

Pierre Bongrand 17.1 89 ==== Week 6====
Pierre Bongrand 25.5 90
Pierre Bongrand 25.3 91 As many deadlines are approaching at the end of the block and the deliverables for this project needs to be finished soon, I took a bit of managerial position. Moreover, as some people didn't participate much in the project until now. I kindly asked in the group chat and in person, that it would be nice if everyone could contribute as much as everyone else. As some people had very little idea about the specifications of our project a part of my work this week was to guide them and help them get on track so that they could contribute later on.
92
Pierre Bongrand 25.2 93 **Managing**
Pierre Bongrand 25.5 94
Pierre Bongrand 25.3 95 - Made a list of tasks accessible and editable online. The list was organised by both priority(not done, needs to be improved, fine but could be improved, done) and type (report, code, presentation). The idea of the list would be that everyone could access anytime the list of remaining things to work on, and could be updated by anyone.
96 - Asked tasks preferences of each team members.
97 - Provided description to each task.
98 - Helped individually three people to get on track with the project.
Pierre Bongrand 25.2 99 - Reminded people to complete their part. Otherwise, we would not meet the deliverable deadline.
Pierre Bongrand 25.3 100 - Gave regularly feedback about the report on XWiki.

Pierre Bongrand 25.4 137 - Created, designed, wrote the Graphical User Interface section and visuals. As it was a reflection from our presentation, I thought it would be a nice addition to describe the work we have done concerning the GUI.
Pierre Bongrand 25.3 138 - Humanoid Robot. As some feedback given on this page has not been implemented in more than 2 weeks, I took the liberty to completely rework this section.
Pierre Bongrand 25.4 139 - Proof-read the entire report iteratively as we improved sections repeatedly.
140 - Gave some constructive feedback about 90% of the sections on the Xwiki or by group messages.
