Stakeholders
In this section, we will explore the stakeholders that are a part of the life and care of a person with dementia. We will expand on the direct stakeholders with value stories related to the well-being of a person with dementia.
Stakeholders
We distinguish between direct and indirect stakeholders involved in the usage of WAF for guiding patients with dementia.
Direct stakeholders encompass the following groups of people (in no particular order):
- Persons diagnosed with dementia PwD
- People who are assigned as legal guardians for PwD who are in legal ward (in Dutch: onder curatele/bewind) Definition from the government of the Netherlands (in Dutch).
- Loved ones of PwD: children, siblings, parents, friends and other guardians.
- Healthcare workers
4.1 Daily caretakers: who look after PwD and ensure their well-being.
4.2 Occasional healthcare agents: physicians, doctors in clinics or hospitals, psychologists, nurses, etc.
Indirect stakeholders are characterized by different groups of people (in no particular order):
- Neighbours living next to PwD
- Acquaintances of PwD
- Other patients who attend the same care facilities as PwD
- Service-oriented people who interact with PwD such as (non-exhaustive list):
4.1 Shopkeepers
4.2 People employed in public service agencies (e.g. police officers, ticket inspectors in public transit, etc.) - Strangers who observe PwD
Value stories
To determine what is important for stakeholders that directly influence the person with dementia, we created value stories for the direct stakeholders.
