Part of Anna's responsibilities is organizing activities for patients with dementia to keep them occupied and entertained. First, she has to determine the activity and explain it to the patients. Next, she has to coordinate the activity while also monitoring all patients and keeping track of their mental and physical states. Combining all of this and dividing her attention among patients is demanding and difficult. Mary participates in the recreational activities organized by Anna. Even though she wants to enjoy herself, due to her condition, she sometimes has difficulty initiating conversations with her fellow residents. Because of this, Mary sometimes does not enjoy the activities. Peter notices his wife is usually less energized and unhappy when he visits which makes him feel helpless.
